And The Bumblebee
You would think that an animal weighing between 4-7 tons with skin more than an inch thick would feel invincible. Apparently not. Elephants are absolutely terrified of bees. Despite the fact that they could knock an entire hive over with their trunk, they shake in their wrinkly boots if a bumblebee comes near. Even if a bee did sting them, what bee has a stinger more than an inch long?
I find a similar parallel in many of my clients. I’ve watched mystified as smart, successful, women stick by the sides of controlling, demeaning men. I also witness warm, compassionate men stuck in the clutches of calculating, soulless women. As I slowly untangle the threads that bind them all together, there is almost always a dollar sign at the other end. Money is not just the root of evil; it has become our anchor and it’s drowning us.
